On the trail from St. Louis to Santa Fe, Dan'l and a party of pioneers run afoul of the warrior Yellow Horse. An Apache chieftain without equal, Yellow Horse despised the white settlers and their drive to steal Indian lands, and he was ready to wage bloody war before another acre was lost.
