Bird Portraits (1901), Author by Ernest Thompson Seton & Ralph Hoffmann. The book first publication in 1901, released A Guide to the Birds of New England and Eastern New York, a work that focused on field marks, behavior, habitat, call notes and songs in order to facilitate bird identification in the field.

About the author;

Ernest Thompson Seton  (August 14, 1860 - October 23, 1946) was a British author, wildlife artist, founder of the Woodcraft Indians, and one of the founding pioneers of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). He is responsible for the appropriation and incorporation of what he believed to be American Indian elements into the traditions of the BSA.

Ralph Hoffmann (November 30, 1870 - July 21, 1932) was an American natural history teacher and amateur ornithologist and botanist. He was the author of the first true bird field guide.
